Art Movement Gallery

What a wonderful way to welcome spring today - meeting the vivacious Sandy Davis of Art Movement Gallery. It was instant friendship as we dallied in the sunshine. She graciously drove here to pick up my Liminal Space to bring to the Gallery.
Sandy Davis with Liminal Space
Sandy's mission is Kentucky art to the people through local businesses. Feeling that work spaces should inspire and be refreshing, she works with businesses who can create gallery walls. Art moves in The Art Movement Gallery and, each season, a new piece of local art replaces the one before so each piece can be seen by as many eyes as possible.

She is very enthusiastic about selling artist's work in this innovative way. She is very open to finding new artists from the Commonwealth, as well as businesses that want to uplift their environment with art.

Artists and businesses: she has made it very easy to be accepted into her fold! Look here for submission process.

3 Talismans at Tribeca Trunk

When I created these collages I added talismans for each bird represented in the art. It is my way of sending a prayer of gratitude to that bird for being here to delight us. Everything has a spirit. Birds  have a soaring spirit. Birds have always represented spirit in my art. Birds are a connection to  inspiration. So I am happy to have these 3 collages for the Light, as a feather exhibit at Tribeca Trunk, September 19 - 30. Below are 3 details.

"LIGHT, as a feather" at tribeca trunk

Last Monday Becky Neal Ochenkoski, owner of tribeca trunk in Lexington, Kentucky and I had so much fun in my studio choosing the art that would be in a show soon. What really thrilled me is that she chose some of my favorite, and most subtle, artworks for the show. We are calling Light, as a Feather. ( not, light as a feather!)

If I Paint it, It Will Happen

I really want to travel more, to see, to visit, to explore the world. I painted a series of 3 called Traveling the World. Please come to Realms of Wonder at MS Rezny Studio/Gallery to see the other 2!

Surprise Addition to "Realms of Wonder"

Click the link above to see a very short video of  a tiny bit of detail of Traveling Shrine for World Appreciation (this is an abbreviated title for now).  Collages were almost complete when the idea to include 1 more magical realm to the exhibit occurred to me. You would be missing out if you do not see it in April at MS Rezny Gallery. After that it will transform into something else, as it has been doing since the mid 90"s.

Dollies get a Sneak Peak of Realms of Wonder

Following Alyson Stanfield's expert advice, and for FUN I created a model of the Realms of Wonder show using the to scale proportions of MS Rezny Studio/Gallery. Doing this grounded me in the process of choosing artwork for the display. Plus my dollies wanted to have a close look at the collages.

Realms of Wonder

My latest collages are featured in a solo show at MS Rezny Studio/Gallery in Lexington, Kentucky from April 1- 30. The artist reception will be in conjunction with the LexArts Gallery Hop on April 19, 5-8 pm. Each Saturday of the month I will be at the gallery from 12-3 pm to talk to visitors about the art.

Look for some samples I will post in the upcoming days. These collages—composed of abstract watercolors, drawings, and botanicals—are echoes of the healing realms I experience in meditation. Remaining in this state, the energy of the present moment guides me. The brush glides, making true marks playful and abstract, scribing a universal language or elements of sacred geometry. Serene and vibrant color fills the space. Each stroke leads to the next, revealing stories of time and place for you to inhabit in peace.
