Andrew Marsh Sculptures

We just had the most interesting time talking with  sculptor Andrew Marsh at Josephine Sculpture Park. He has been carving big wood there during April 2013, transforming 3 logs into abstract sculptures - chainsaw style! These 3 carved pieces, from 8'L x 22"D maple, 8'L x 30"D maple, and 10'L x 37"D sycamore, will be unveiled in the set of JSP's 2013 Summerstage production of William Shakespeare's "As You Like It", June 6-8 & 13-15, directed by Kathi E.B. Ellis. Wood donated by Foree's Tree Service. We took 3 pictures and you can see his progress on his Facebook page by clicking on his name above.

Last night we attended the premier of "As You Like It" at the Josephine Sculpture Park near Frankfort. The actors did a fabulous rendition of the Bard's tale. Andrew's sculptures, that represented the trees of Arden, were strong and grounded, an interesting contrast to the bushes swaying in the breeze that served to hide the "back stage".
